I’m Nellie Barnett, a certified trainer, glute specialist, and nutrition coach. You may have seen me featured in Women's Health, Men's Health and on the Today Show. I’m here to empower women to unlock their full potential through Nellbells Fitness—a holistic approach to fitness that focuses on the body, mind, and soul. The principles I teach are rooted in my personal journey with strength training, the incredible progress I’ve witnessed in my clients, and my professional expertise in coaching movement and nutrition.
Before falling in love with fitness, I always ate relatively healthy but I didn't show that same level of care to my physical activity. Year after year, my goal was to “get toned,” and year after year, it didn’t happen. Then something shifted within me. It wasn’t just about prioritizing my health; it was about reclaiming my power. When I started strength training, it was during a time when I felt life was happening to me, and I decided I wanted to start making life happen for me. I committed to my goals to prove to myself that I am worthy and capable of everything I desire. This awakening unlocked my inner willpower, and strength training became my salvation. The benefits went far beyond physical changes; it empowered me mentally and helped me break through the self-imposed limitations I had once believed in. Over time, I developed a growth mindset that extended to all areas of my life.
The mind is incredibly powerful and when you realize you have the power to smash any glass ceiling, that’s when you’ve unlocked your potential. I never thought I’d be able to deadlift 285 lbs, yet here I am doing it. I like to call these gym lessons turned life lessons because when you think you can’t during a workout and surprise yourself by doing it, you’ve got to ask yourself “in what other areas of my life am I telling myself I can’t?” …when in fact, you can. You are capable of more than you know.
